Love the chase scene! When a papio chase, would you move the bait faster? Or would you slow it down just a little like what Mark was doing?

Just like peacock bass.... keep moving. If you slow down or stop they turn away.

That explained why a white papio swam away when my plastic came near shore at the end of the retrieve. I ran out of room and was getting ready for the next cast when it came into view following in...but turned away when the lure stopped moving :roll:

Next time, I'll bring the fly rod :wink: Got my 10-wt TFO TiCR with a Orvis Battenkill. The salmon were no match for that rod under my control :lol:

I've seen Pike and Musky fishermen doing a fast figure-8 at boat side with the lure to get the following fish to bite, pretty exciting to watch, this video reminded me of that.
