I think you got mixed up there. BPS reels are made by Browning/Silstar/Pflueger? I think, and Cabela's better reels are made by Daiwa with their lower end models made by probably Silstar also. Not too sure about those.

My instructor when I was in Pensacola was a avid bass fisherman, and swears up a down by the bass pro shops Johnny Morris reels. I think that might be the next baitcaster I'll buy.

BPS reels are made by Pflueger. Cabelas are made by daiwa with a few quantams.
CA Bass: If you are thinking about the Johnny Morris there are much better alternatives. I can give you specific suggestions if you let me know what exactly you are looking for.

Ca-bass,

I agree with BSP, there are better options. I have one of the Johnny Morris bait casters. Not that bad of a reell. Just a little heavy, and doesn't have the free spool match of Shimano and Diawa.

However, you can't beat the cost.

Tks guys, after hearing that I think I'll stick to my tdx and curados.

I've been interested in a nice cranking rod for awhile but besides my fly rods I haven't ever purchased a rod online. Anyone have any good suggesting for a good fiberglass cranking rod? I've used a St. Croix cranking rod before and it was pretty nice(not sure they exact model).

I know the shimano crucial crankbait rod is nice (7'11"), but I have never tried glass. I have heard nice things about the fiberglass powell rods though.
