Boat Interior

Hey I've got a question which hopefully the peanut gallery can answer.
I'm in the process of looking for a new boat to buy. We live on Long Island Sound in CT, so it will need to do a good amount of saltwater fishing, the vast majority of it nearshore. I also hit the local lakes a lot, so it'll get trailered to those.
Essentially right now I'm pretty much set on Lund's 2008 Rebel. It seems to fit. The only question I had was about the interior. Does anyone have experience with the marine "carpet". How is the stuff? Is it a pain to clean up/de-smell? The boat will get fish scales and hacked up bunker in it, so I want to make sure maintenance won't be a massive problem.
Any feedback is appreciated. Or if you can think of a better boat that might fit my needs.
Thanks!
Stripers season is around the corner.
