Ramp use
Has anyone noticed recently how people fishing from shore on the concrete "steps" of the boat ramp seem adamant about moving when a boat comes in or goes out? Just the other day, we were coming in and there was about 3 lines going across the ramp. They moved only when we pulling along side the concrete area. And when we were about to leave, tralier in the water ready to load, a guy hooks up and plays the fish with his line going across the ramp. And then other guys start throwing in the same area. It would have took us maybe 2 miniutes to tralier the boat and we'd be out of there. Yes, I understand its a public area and we all need to share but please, have a little consideration for others.

We need more space. One of several concerns regarding the lake is more places for people to fish from shore.
There is one idea to clear out all the trees and brush from shore headed back up toward Rose Street Slough (Standing at the ramp and going to your left) A large clear grassy area so people can get to the water to fish.
I heard the place we call Blue Boat Point might be turned into another fishing park. Right now it's being leased from the state by a plant nursery.
Another idea is to condemn that strip of land along the north side of the lake from the dam over to the bridge and on up stream to Whitmore.
Turn that into a park. I also understand there are several developers trying to obtain that strip of land for expensive lake side homes.
There has been lots of talk about the lake being a recreation and fishing destination. An economic draw to help the Wahiawa economy. But right now it's just our little secret.

"Why let the truth stand in the way of a good fish story?"
I agree some of the ramp fisherman are very rude and dont move at all. Most wont even get out of your way on the steps or get grumpy when you pull your boat up were there fishing. It is a boat ramp you know. Not a fishing platform. Almost a month ago I was backing my boat down and a little kid ran behind my trailer last minute before entering the water. Luckily I seen him run behind and only missed him by inches or else he would have been toast. Then the person with him decides to scream at me and tell me I should watch out for people.
Please, why dont you watch your damn kid!

From what one of the boat ramp shore fisherman was telling me, they catch a lot of fish in that spot when the boats pull in. I have noticed it as well everytime I pull in and there is someone fishing with tilapia they usually hook up. I think our boats make the tilapia panic and go nuts, right into the tucs waiting off that point.
