BAIT

Where can I get my hands on some live bait, I need some for this weekend can any one point me in the right direction please.

Any pet shop. Get large feeder comets or go to a local stream and catch tilapia and guppies. You can fish for bait at the ramp to.

I tried to net some bait fish at the ramp but i didnt have a long enough net whats the best way to catch them and im not to familiar with the area to know where to find the streams.

Hey when you guys fish with live bait, are you using a small split shot sinker a few feet up and letting the bait free swim or are you controlling the bait with a tight line?

I catch my live bait in that stream in Kailua that drains the swamp.
Come down the Pali Hwy, cross the bridge into town (By Windward Boats) and turn right. I go down just past the Times Cafe, where Nash Windsurfing is.

I got those wire minnow traps from Nanko's in Kaneohe. It's about 2 feet long with a funnel at each end. Just put in a few slices of bread and set it in the water near the edge..... (under the tree by the dumpster.... takes about 10 minutes to fill it up 2 or 3 times.

Now don't tell anyone about my "secret spot" :lol: :lol: :lol:

Sometimes I use a split shot ( BB size) Most times I just let it swim.
I like a #10 AH hook.
