Catch & Release & Attacked
So far this week Chris has caught 4 little large mouth bass. (see pictures)
These little 7 inch bass may be some of those hatchery raised fish released a few months ago. This cute little guy was caught near the bridge on the North Fork of the lake. It, and several others, attacked a 2 inch white Senko speeding along the edge of the grass.
After taking pictures, the bass was carefully placed in the water about 10 feet from shore. We watched it swim back toward the cover of the grass. Then, just 3 feet from the safety of the California grass, the water exploded, as a very good size (read 6 or 7 pound) peacock bass inhaled the hapless little bass in one giant gulp.
Wow, I guess next time we should release small fish in, not near, the safety of the grass.
