Anyone think there would be an issue running a 18'7" boat on lake Wilson? I know its 7" over the limit but will it really matter?
Trading in my z8 20''1" for something smaller...maybe a tracker 190 or 175 txw.
My delema is...I will get better trade in value with the more expensive boat I get

As long as you know what is legally allowed and are ok knowing the boat doesn't fit within the rules, can't really say much if the DLNR cites you. I'll bet if you had of just got the boat and not mentioned it on a public furum that you had a boat that was illegal to have in the Lake, no one would have ever known. The dealership will give you more trade in value on your boat because they will be making more money off you if you buy a more expensive boat.

I went with the 17.5...I guess I wouldn't be a very good criminal! Found a dealer that gave me a fair price and I get to keep my fishfinders. The first two places were really lowballing me like 2 grand less and wanted my fish finders too.
I fully understand why they would give me more for buying more but it was hard to justify buying more boat when it wasn't something I wanted long term.
Looking forward to coming back and fishing lake Wilson again!
