9/8 Topwater and Boy Scout Island clean-up

Postby shanai » Sun Sep 08, 2013 8:42 pm

The HFFA held a special topwater lure only tournament today as part of a planned clean-up of Boy Scout Island to remove trash left behind by squatters.

It was hot and muggy with very little breeze or cloud cover. Fishing was really tough using only topwater lures, and as a result; only one legal size fish was caught on a buzzbait. Several members reported hooking dink sized Tucs, too small to weigh.

The top of Boy Scout Island is surrounded by trees and there were lots of trash. Members filled eleven bags of trash and we probably could have filled twice that much.

Excellent job...
Please let me know when the next clean up is planned... perhaps we can get some Boy Scouts to help. I bet they would love it.
