Friday Morning, 14 June 13

:D

It was a fun morning.
Took the Tenkara rod our in search of Red Devils.

They were around and actively feeding.

Even the little peacock bass were active...

And then from out of the blue... this 2 pound peacock bass...
Image

As soon as it hit, the fish headed for the middle of the lake.
Then it was a matter of hanging on and hoping the 4# test leader
would hold. It's times like this you wish you did have a fishing reel.

My Tenkara Rod is 13'6" long, weighs 3 ounces and has
a 13 foot braided fly line. I then add 6 feet of 4# test tippet
and the fly.
NO REEL.
This is the size fish the Tenkara rod was designed for.

Then there was this "purple devil". LOL

DLNR and HPD were on the lake this morning checking out the "Urban Outdoorsman".
Seems that Dole is pressing a trespassing complaint
for the Occupy Boy Scout Island folks. :)

Tenkara is so much fun!!! It makes a little sunfish feels like a monster and a real scary fight. Can't wait to catch some RD and baby Peacocks on the tenkara next time...and Ahnkochee, you are already invited ;)

I am genetically predisposed to make fish look bigger than they really are.
