Bassmasters Classic 2013

Postby Baires722 » Thu Feb 21, 2013 7:48 am

The Super Bowl of bass fishing is finally here! I've been keeping up with weather conditions and it was snowing yesterday for practice! It's looking like its going to be tough tournament!! Anyone that keeps up with B.A.S.S., who do you think is going to take it home Sunday? As much as I would like KVD or Mike Iconelli to win, I'm thinking Jason Christie, a local of Oklahoma, is going to win. We'll see how it plays out, either way, fishing for 500k beats anything right about now!! 8)

I don't keep up with many of the pros, but I'd have to go with KVD, just cause.....

I always cheer for 2004 Champion, Takahiro Omori. He is someone I look up to in life, not just in fishing. If you don't know his story, here is an article from a few years back: http://www.dallasobserver.com/2004-09-1 ... n-america/
I hope he wins or at least does well, but I wouldn't be surprised if KVD won...again!

I agree skunked, his story is an awsome example of the human will. Very motivating to say the least.

Yeah I know who he is. He's from Emory area in Texas. Awesome story! I'm watching the live weigh in right now, technology is great!

I agree but he's got himself in a deep hole on day one! I don't think this is his classic this year. 6 lbs 12 oz ain't gonna cut it!

6 lbs on a 5 fish limit? Heck, even I could be competative!

Haha! Yeah it was a tough day(weather wise) but some guys made it happen! I'm trying to talk the wife into letting me go all out for next year! Caught her looking at some rangers on her iPad :o Watching these guys fish makes me want to get real serious for the Texas Team Trail. B.A.S.S. did a good job with online weigh in and basstrak. You can see where the pros are fishing on the lake and what they've caught. Pretty cool stuff! Y'all should check it out.

Check out the basscam and all of the other options they have. Weigh-in begins 12:30pm our time. I'm thinking we should do our weigh-ins like them!! 8)

Thanks for the link. Looks like KVD may be out of contention as well as Gerald Swindle. Takahiro is toward the last of the pack. Iaconelli is looking pretty strong, at lest right now.

I wouldn't count KVD out quiet yet. The guy that won last year's classic weighed in nothing yesterday. Today he's caught the biggest sack. It takes one big day and your up there. On a side note, 2 out of the 5 guys I chose for my fantasy team are in the top 3. Maybe they'll help me win something!

Looks like Chris Lane brought the pain! What a spectacle at the weigh in!!! 8)
