WTB Team Tournament Final Count

Postby Baires722 » Sun Jul 01, 2012 9:32 pm

So I did confirmation calls today to get a final count for the WTB Team Tournament. I'm proud to say that many have stepped up and we are going to have a great turn out! 25 boat captains are participating taking 29 soldiers out! For those boat captains participating, we will be having a group meeting on JULY 29th to go over timelines, rules, and tournament layout. This will also be where you meet your tournament partner, WTB soldier(s), so you can discuss details on their fishing experience and what time you want them to be at the boat ramp. I don't have a time and location for this meeting yet but I do know that it will be in Wahiawa. Thanks again for all the support. If you have any questions please feel free to message or contact me at baires0925@yahoo.com

Have you contacted the TV shows "Let's Go Fishing" or "Hawaii Goes Fishing" about this tournemant? I'm sure either would love to tape the tournament for an upcoming episode, and give this cause some nice free exposure. Stan I believe has connections with both shows.

I tried contacting Hawaii news now and the Schofield barracks newspaper but still haven't heard anything back. Maybe Stan will read your message and spread the word

Hostess Cindy Paliracio always asks at end of each episode for show idea, and to contact them if you'd like the camera crew to tag along. Try emial them, I think you may get a positive response.

Ideas for a meeting place: Dots Restaurant or the boat ramp parking lot. Is Mike gonna be the weigh master since he has the accurate scales?

Two guys from the other club will be the weigh masters for the tournament. They said they have two certified scales and said they would be willing to be appointed the weigh masters. I figured weighing in two teams at a time will save on time. I think we'll have the meeting at the boat ramp at 4 pm the Sunday before the tournament. I'll make sure to put it out at the meeting and will email the rest.
