:?
Question:
Hi, just wondering if you know if I have to register my
8' inflatable boat with trolling motor to fish Lake Wilson. thank you!
:?

Well gang, I'm not sure... but I bet there is someone out there who does know.

I think if it has a motor it needs to be registered.
I do know that you do not need the Ramp Permit Stick on
your trailer for Lake Wilson. (you do need the boat ramp
sticker if you use any other boat ramp... saltwater)

Thats about as much as I know also. Even kayaks need to be registered if they have a trolling motor on them. I would "guess" inflatables would be subject to the same. I can contact my sister-in-law's friend who registers boats at the DLNR on Queen St. and see what she says.

I registered my inflatable at the DLNR office on Queen Street last month. They informed me that if your boat is more than 8' and has a gas motor it has to be registered.

Trickier part is how you plan to put your boat numbers on your inflatable.
I opted to place my numbers on clear plastic and then mount that to the side
of the boat. If you're handy with painting you could stencil and/or paint the numbers on. The guy at the marine shop did not recommend me trying to stick the numbers on as he noted that the stick numbers would just peel off an inflatable.

Any boat with motor (electric or gas) or sail needs to be registered. For some inexplicable reason kayaks with sails are currently exempt. I worked for DLNR Boating for 16 years so know how these pirates operate.
