catfishing from shore?
Aloha, newbie here looking for some spots that I can catfish from shore. I've tried the area around the boat ramp without success so I'm looking for someone to throw a bone my way and possibly point me in the right direction. I'm going to try and fish around the bridges if they're accessible but are there any other decent spot? Also, what besides chicken liver (which never stays on the hook) would be good to use? Live tilapia? Any specific rigs?
Aloha,
Randy

Try parking by "K" over across from Schofield and walking down to the lake.
There are guys fishing form Kunia Pt on north to Mikimiki Pt.
Plenty of parking on the right next to the lake. (past Kunia Road just after the Bus Stop and rock wall. I see people fishing all along there.
We were using small talapia or the gold fish (feeder fish from the pet store)

I've always had my best cat fishing after I "baited" a place.
Like the cove behind that guys house where he and the kids tossed 2 cups of dog food into the water each afternoon to "watch the fish come and eat".
Or the time I hung that Wildlife Feeder from the tree out over the water.
Within 3 days of putting up the feeder we were catching catfish, red devils, oscar, bluegill, bass, and peacock bass. It was a great place to take kids fishing... guarantee catch lots of fish. I told everyone where the feeder was so we could all enjoy it.
Then one day I went to re-fill the feeder with dog food... and it was gone.
