they do things a little diffrent over there, no tuc all bass only and all tuc only tournaments. they fish from 7-12 only and only one day. with a money pot for biggest fish and a money pot for 1st place. a buddy called me for advice on what i thought he should try on sunday. he said muddy high water and cold at waita. i thought well slow and dark colored baits in the flooded grass line. he threw a chartreuse buzzbait along the grass line and called me at 9am to tell me about this fish he caught.one fish and won both the toc and big fish on kaui today! good thing he will need the money to buy an new rod to replace the one he stepped on in the panic to get it in the boat hahahaha ........hell what do i know id have been dunkin a jig and pulled water all day!! hey its a 6lb 9 ounce bass so i guess i can post a pic??

Awesome fish! A northern strain Largemouth of that size is impressive anywhere in the country. Congratulations to your friend! I remember fishing at Waita when I was a little kid visiting my Uncle on Kauai.

Good to hear from the Kauai guys... hope they start posting more.
We only have Lake Wilson, that's our "secret spot", so I wouldn't expect them to tell us about all the different locations they can fish.
