Aloha Chuck,
Just a little reader survey to confirm that people do read the
Freshwater Page in the Hawaii Fishing News.
A bunch of people. LOL
I went down to the stream in Kaneohe again today
for a little fishing... Wanted to try out some new
Tenkara flys on the tropical fish in the stream...
Lots of people fishing. We got to visiting and they
told me they drove all the way from Pearl City...
they wanted to "try that stream they read about in HFN".
They were using shrimp for bait and caught a bucket full.
I have no idea what they were going to do with
all those fish... they had several kinds and were
keeping them alive with an aerator.
I met a kid there last week from Wahiawa who
was catching the 5-bar and using them for peacock
bass live bait at the lake.
Even with all the "catch and keep" going on since
the story came out... I still caught and released
17 fish in about an hour. That idea of using them
for live bait does sound interesting though...
maybe next time.
LOL
Stan
