Aloha everyone. Yesterday my friends and I were at Morgan's point from about 2:30 - 6:30. Although we had some hook ups early, it wasn't the usual steady strikes. The fishing heated up pretty late like about 5:30 but still wasn't really hot like some days we've had. My guess is the full moon allows the tucs to feed at night so they're not as hungry and agressive. Wondering if anyone else noticed this. We hooked about 6 large mouth bass, a couple w/tags but almost all of them seemed skinny and undernourished. Another thing....on one hook up when the tuc opened his mouth, there was this half digested needle fish sticking out of his gut. It must've been about 7" long. Didn't know they fed on those things. Tight lines to all on your next outing....

night fishing

I think the amount of feeding activity goes in cycles. Weather also plays a part in how much the fish will feed. I know bass will feed at night, but I think tucunare are inactive at night. I saw a tuc eat a stick fish once, was mean!

Didn't want to start a new thread because I have no success to report. Went yesterday (monday) and didn't catch anything. Didn't have live bait this time or else I could've at least caught a few medium sized ones. Had a nice one blow up on my buzzbait but couldn't hook it. First time I have ever had a bite on the buzzer. Mainly went to try out my new Kistler Helium rod and Daiwa Fuego reel. Spent all that money and didn't even catch one fish! Oh well, maybe next time. Good luck to all you guys and gals!
