Ethanol Free Gas
The 7-11 store in Kahaluu (accross from the Hygienic Store) on the windward side, has just started offering ethanol free gasoline. Look for the "gold" hose at every pump.
The address is 47-515 Kamehameha Hwy... just down the road-a-piece from Kaneohe.
I won't go into what I think of that 10% ethanol gas the legislature and the greenies forced down our throats..... and what it can do to your engines. (did to my outboard motor)
Suffice it to say that it was a good idea that just didn't pan out and is causing a lot more problems and cost than it's worth.
It is so nice to just pull the boat up to the pump and get good gas insted of taking the 5 gallon cans down to the harbor.

There are several locations that sell ethanol free gas. Most major harbors carry it. The biggest problem with ethy is the pre-2003 gas tanks liner gets broken down, with the crap getting into the fuel syspem. The post 2003 manufactured boats "supposedly" have added preventive measures to account for the ethy gas. I use Marine Stabil in all my gas just to be safe.

actually its done so "well" that they wanna increase the amount o 15%,wipes out most 2 stroke engines for sure. and most older motors just fry. ethanol seperates from the gas over time and when it does watch out when it hits the carbs! i have seen pics of outboards just seared inside from running hot on ethanol. freedom gas in waianae has reg gas too, and i think there may be a place in kapolei.
