depends on water color and time of year for me, shads always good, flashier for sunny, subdued for cloudier.at times firetiger works great but not always. i have had great success with red at times, must be tucs hating on red devils. let the conditions decide the crank, but 3 or 4 colors will do and maybe 2 or 3 sizes for diffrent depths.dont get too overloaded with all the choices, ive caught just fine on a 2.99 bait as much as the 19$ lucky craft baits, dont waste money unless its a retriever hahahah or youll be crying.

I'm not an authority on this, but I like red and sexy shad. Lucky Craft's American shad color is really good too. The Rapala Shad Rap comes in a perch color that looks like a baby peacock bass. One piece of advice for Lake Wilson only is to not use dark colors like black because you will be seriously limiting your strikes by not appealing to the tucs very much, and we all know that they outnumber bass by at least 100 to 1.

try baby largemouth bass, shad, crawdad, and other brown-red patterns.
