Low Water

The boat ramp wasn't a problem at all. Even with low water, everyone was able to just back right in and drive the boats off the trailer.
Here is the tower down by the dam that has the 5 gates that need repairing. In case of a big flood the gates can be opened to regulate the amount of water going down stream to Wailua. (remember those guys you see on TV standing in knee deep water in their front yards next to their flooded cars every time there is a big rain?)
From the looks of that rusty gate..... it's going to take a lot more than some WD-40.
The depth at the tower is 41 feet. There is talk of building a coffer dam insted of lowering (aka DRAINING) the lake if repairs can't be made at this water level.
How low is the water? Under the North Fork Bridge there is only 3 feet of water.
For those who don't remember, the "Catch & Release" sign marked the water level when the lake was full. This is the South Fork Bridge.
