I think the cost is determined by how big of a container is need to ship it not so much by the weight but I could be wrong.

I quoted 3,400 for a 16' boat and trailer from Pasha Hawaii out of San Diego. Thats roll on roll off. The cheapest I found. I'm using a website called uship.com one guy gave me a bid for 1,400 to trailer a boat from Florida to san diego. Thats pretty cheap.
