I think the official time on the sign is 0645 but sometimes the guy opens it up earlier.

Yep, I've been on the water by 0645 hours,... not lately mind you, but it is possible. When I was working early morning hours, the park was opened around 0600 hours on a fairly regular basis.

actually there are 2 signs with 2 diffrent times, the gate one says 6am the one at the turn says 7 am i believe, generally 630 is safe, i know his wife works during the week and he opens it at 6 for her to leave and he usually leaves it open but weekends i have sat outside and waited till 630 or 645 for him to open it, hes pretty cool if he sees you sitting out there he may get out early and open it, but 630- 645 is safe.
