here are a couple pics of a HUGE smallmouth i caught 3 years ago at ho'omaluhia. i was just fishing for red devils like always, then i hooked up to this monster. im kind of bummed though, i caught it on bread...... thing had to weigh at least 4 pounds, didn't get to offically weigh it though. It was my first "bass" ever. i didnt even know about lake wilson back then.

According to Hawaii Fishing News, the record is 4.98 lbs. :?

damn! thats unheard of size for hawaii!! even by kaui standards!! i think you may have very may well have had the state record in your hands or very close to it!! and on bread!! dude at least you got pics cause most of us will never hold a smallie that big.

i know! i think all the red devils splashing around the bread got the smallmouth all excited, then he just attacked the first thing he saw, which was my little bread ball haha.

oh ya and i also catch the red devils with yellow flowers, seabass is a witness!
