mini competition

Postby marcusn » Wed May 04, 2011 9:14 pm

just a random idea, we should have a little fun competition to see who can catch the state record red devil. since i gurantee there are red devils bigger than the current state record.

Sounds good. I'd try for a big BG. If I catch a big RD, I'd probably curse it and throw it on the bank! If someone does catch a record fish, make sure you follow the protocol for submitting it for the State record.

actually bluegill sounds better since they're harder to catch. we can do both. whats the current record, 8 ounces?

There also currently NO carp in the record books so ANY carp can be submitted. I've caught plenty 2 to 3 lb. carp in the lake, and have seen much bigger ones.

Really? I wish I had known that. When my granddaughter was 4 years old, she caught a 4 lb. carp! That would have been great to see her as a record holder!

My neighbor caught a 13 lb. carp back in the mid 1980's. Missed opportunity to be in the record books.

Did he eat it or let it go? Carp live 60 years or more. If he let it go it could be double that easy.
