Alton Jones
2008 Bassmaster Classic champion and BASS Member since 1974
Chris and I had the pleasure of fishing with Alton and his son Alton Jr. recently. White Wash.... No Fish.... the peacock bass only made half hearted chases. I'm sure he could have caught a few largemouth, but they wanted to go for the peacocks. All and all it was a fun, relaxing day on the water. Alton is a pleasure to fish with, a real down to earth guy who is just as nice in person as he seems to be on TV.
The next day he invited us to go deep sea fishing. I had to work so Chris went along. So many fish....
But let Alton tell it... he does a much better job. This is a link to his blog. The most read blog on the BASS web site.

Here are a few of the pictures that Chris and I took...
Alton Jr., an acomplished bass fisherman, with a Lake Wilson Red Devil.
I bet it won't be long before we see him on the BASS tournament trail.
Fishing Lake Wilson.
Chris and Alton.
The "Live Bait II" is a little bigger than the bass boat...
AJ and his Ahi.. ask him how his arms feel.
You win some, and the sharks win some.
Opelu (small ones) make great bait for the larger ones (aku).
They caught 22 big fat aku. This is the fish Alton was talking about when he wished he had his bass tackle with him.
Laying out a few of the fish for a picture.
That is a lot of Good Eats.

That's pretty cool to have been able to fish with a Classic champ! From what I've seen on TV, he seems to be a really nice guy. Good to know that it's not just an act, but that he really is that way. Very articulate and good in front of the video cameras too. A great ambassador and spokesperson for his sport. Too bad the fishing wasn't so good that day. You got a good plug for your business on his blog too!
