Eating Fish From Lake Wilson Safe?

Postby J-Fried81 » Fri May 22, 2009 10:48 am

Are the fish (catfish) safe to eat from Lake Wilson and is it allowed? If so, what is the limit? Thank you all for your help!

I've eaten numerous catfish taken from the north fork area. (upstream of the homeless  ) A couple of years ago a movie company had the north fork water tested for bacteria, etc. and all results came back within the safe level. All bass are catch & release, but IIRC, catfish are two per day. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The guys at the Wahiawa Sewage Plant told me that the water they are dumping into the lake is cleaner than the water already in the lake.
:o
Makes me feel better.

I understand the results of the fish testing we did last fall is almost ready for release. Seems that fish fillets are safe to eat.
( I don't know about eating the "whole" fish.... intestens, eyes, brain?)
But the "fillets" are safe.

Will post results of the study when they are all ready for release.

So if they open a limited catch and keep for peacock bass......
Anyone going have a fish fry?????
