Chasing Peacock!

Postby LargemouthLover » Fri Apr 10, 2009 2:48 pm

Hello Gentlemen. I am moving to Oahu for work in several months, but am visiting next week. I has heartbroken thinking that I would lose my passion of bass fishing, that is until I found this web site. I am so happy to see that there are many in Hawaii who share my passion. I have always dreamed off fishing for peakcocks, but thought I would never get the chance to do so. I was wondering if anyone out there who could tell me what the odds are that I might be able to hook up with one from shore this next week while visiting? Anyone have any pointers for a novice? Thanks for the info guys.

I may be able to take you out next weekend, but I'm a novice fisherman myself (and a bit unlucky to!) Hopefully one of the more accomplished anglers can help you out.

The fishing has been kind of slow this year, but your biggest challenge will be adapting. It is different from largemouth bass fishing. Fishing from shore, to me is easier than from a boat. I would say your odds will be low since you are inexperienced, but the only way to learn is to go fish and target them. The best way to go is live bait.
