"New" boat

Postby MichiganMan » Sun Mar 22, 2009 7:54 pm

Well new to me anyway. '80 14 ft aluminum Gamefisher I picked up for $800 w/trailor. Kevin threw in a 15hp Johnson that hasn't been running for about a year. I got a trolling motor that pushed it around alright (took me 40 minutes to get to blue boat point on Friday. No luck with the fish but was just out to try the boat. I'm going back out this Friday. I'll post results. If it's anyone's hobby to get old outboards running again, let me know. I haven't priced it out to get it fixed, but I'll spend a couple hundred bucks to be able to get to the holes a little quicker.

try craigslist, there are some pretty cheap motors out there. buyer beware of course most are salt water runners, but might but worth it rather than fix up one. i have a 12ft aluminum and it runs great on a 5 horse . good luck

I just got my 8HP Honda outboard up and running again.
$150 over at Bay Side Marine in Kaneohe. Re built carb, plugs, the works...
I didn't have a fuel hose that runs from the motor to the gas tank..
that little jewel cost me $100....
