Carp Anyone?

Postby Ahnkochee » Sun Jul 13, 2008 9:16 am

Does anyone here (I see the Koreans at the ramp on the weekends with their LONG poles) for a change of pace ever target Carp. Seems like every time I'm out in Lake Wilson Tuc fishing I'll have at least one humongaloid 20 pound Carp come up and do a large belly flop close by my boat. I'm sure they be allot of fun on light tackle. What's a good method, and good bait for these giant mud minnows? Mahalo.

As a kid my dad would take us to a small reservoir and we tried our luck at anything that would bite. I recall using a small snelled hook, maybe size 6 or 8, and a small float about a foot or so up from that for carp. I remember using kernels of corn and also small balls of dough you buy in a roll at the store. That seemed to stay on better than plain bread. Used to cast it up in the shallows where we saw some carp schooling or eating and making a ruckus. They sure put the little white and black Zebco combo to the test. Anyone out there remember the combo I'm referring to???

Hey that's an idea for a new post...
