Long lasting torrential rain pushed the water level in Lake Wilson to the point where Honolulu Emergency Management Officials considered ordering evacuations downstream over the weekend.
Since the catastrophic fatal dam failure on Kauai authorities have held dams at about 65-70% of capacity. Lake Wilson's dam went over 100% and held. This should reassure downstream residents.
So, now that we know that the dam holds, can we ask the responsible authorities to keep the levels in the stable mid 70s through the Spring season so new fish can span.
In the meantime, a new plan for Lake Wilson's land side Whitewater State Park has been in the works for years. The unavailing is at at the next Neighborhood Board Meeting. Let's go see. Aloha

Re: The Dam held
If the dam is that unsafe they need to repair or rebuild it, instead of hoping it doesn't breach.
