Postby BASSTRACKER » Tue Nov 11, 2014 4:51 pm

well its been a year of thinking bout it, finally got off my butt and finished my course. some really odd questions pertaining to nothing we do here in hawaii. managed to pass with an 86%. was all over the news on monday that DLNR as of Nov 11 2014 can fine 1000$ suspend boating privileges for 30 days and 15 days in jail. I'm sure id be the one guy that has that happen hahaha!! not now!

Completed mine as well. Took me about 5 hours over the course of three days to complete everything. Here's a link to an on-line site that has a boating safety course for Hawaii. Best part is that the course is FREE!

If you're interested, here's a link to the DLNR Q & A page regarding this new boating safety requirement.

:D

Finished mine on Nov 12… a day late. LOL

The worst part was my son, Chris. He holds a 100 ton Coast Guard ticket so he doesn't have to take the boating safety class.
He was always "testing" me about things that would be on the exam.

"What, you don't know that Dad"
Kids, I tell you.

I took the Texas boater education course...wonder if that will work? Probably not would be my guess.

Your good… anyone visiting Hawaii has a 90 day something or other.
If you're good in Texas, you should be good in any state. Except for concealed carry… Hawaii is way behind the times with that.

I heard the concealed carry permit issuance for Hawaii was getting looked at pretty heavily, and read it will likely get overturned.

I hope that's the case because I have a few handguns that serve no other purpose than being really convenient to conceal in my pocket. Definitely going to miss my GA CCP :(
