The anykine anglers went out on Saturday (6/1) for a day of anykine angling, but mainly looking for papio to add to the DLNR fin clipping and tagging project.

Number # 1 anykine angler Garey hooked this 8" Omilu, too small to tag but big enough for a fin clipping. ( hooked on a secret anykine angler pin minnow lure )

It was a great day for fishing but not so good for catching, with only a few short strikes but no fish. The morning ended with this 11 1/2" white papio, that we did CPR, tagged and fin clipped.

A great way to end the day and another fun anykine adventure

Isn't your "secret spot" a little muddy from all that Manoa Mist we've had lately?

Our "secret spot" was a bit more stained than usual but nothing like the chocolate waters of a couple of days ago. There was more rubbish floating along the banks and with all the "fresh water", it likely affected the bite. ( at least that's the excuse I'm using )
