New bucktail jig

My uncle just ordered this as a template for some jigs we are going to tie. This company ties these jigs for peacock bass in south america. The jig with the extended tail is about eight inches longs.

So do you guys think it will catch fish? My concern is that its too big so we might try to tie something smaller

Peacocks are very aggressive and they attack anything, so I don't think eight inches is to big. They might not be used to it's color or profile, but if you work it right they will attack. Good luck!

On our lake, you can catch a 6 lb.(+) peacock on a fly so I don't think size matters on this lake.
