Tornado and hail on Oahu, huh?

Postby Ken » Mon Mar 12, 2012 10:03 am

Read on The Weather Network that there was an F0 at Lanikai Beach and also golf ball sized hail in some areas. Hope everyone is OK.

No damage at our house, but a friends place near the Marine Base had damage to his mango tree and shrubs from the hail.

The hall woke me up in the morning, sounded like rocks but fortunately no damage (3" canec topped with 2" of polymer foam almost bullet proof.
A buddy has a tarp lanai which was made holey by hail. The twister in Kailua was weird rare event.
Several years back I actually went through a waterspout in Kaneohe Bay on a friends sailboat, could not avoid it and spun us around like a top but heavy keel kept us in the water with no damage since we had the sails down running on auxiliary power.
