stinger rig

Tried a new rig on my 1/4 oz plugs. Instead of the treble wired onto the plug, I ran 12" of 12# fluorocarbon leader to a Woolybugger. I used this concept successfully on Christmas Island for Oio. It seems to work well on Tuc's also. Going to try it on Trout this week. http://s15.postimg.org/mecoima1...

The reels are Quantum PTi 10 and Shimano 1000fb are on a Pfluger 5'ul and a Fenwick 5.5' They both hav...

I was working with one of my team members a few weeks ago using 1/8 oz. plugs in the North fork of the Wailua River. http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l178/surfspot/DSCN5487.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l178/surfspot/DSCN5480.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l178/surfspot/DSCN5478.jpg

If you don't start your retrieves quickly, and work them fast near the surface.... they sink into the coral. I guess you need a super fast retrieve ratio to make them work on the surface which they look like they are designed for which is great for Papio but not great for freshwater, I think I'll s...

Kauai Large Mouth

I have a small stream below my house on the island of Kauai that I use as my fresh water lab. Recently I've been testing out a new size, 1/8oz. ceramic plug. I use a combination of surface chugging and skipping and sub surface swimming to get the action that has produced stikes and hookups. ck my ot...
