I know that feeling, but for me it just comes from being on the beach for six hours. Next time I am in the islands, I have to try Peacock bass fishing.

Even in California, BPS takes forever to get here. Cabela's takes 3 or 4 days, but BPS takes about a week.

I know the shimano crucial crankbait rod is nice (7'11"), but I have never tried glass. I have heard nice things about the fiberglass powell rods though.

I am glad that somebody had a good day with bluegill swimbaits. I bet the Tru Tungsten swimbaits and shell crackers would also do very well.

BPS reels are made by Pflueger. Cabelas are made by daiwa with a few quantams.
CA Bass: If you are thinking about the Johnny Morris there are much better alternatives. I can give you specific suggestions if you let me know what exactly you are looking for.

Ken, I am glad that the EDC guys hooked you up with some quality spotties. Those things are really fun to catch! Fly lining for cudas is hard, but once you get the hang of it it is a blast. Most fishing in the summer here is done by fly lining bait. It is also really fun to throw surface iron for ye...

Maybe you guys should try a talapia swimbait when they are on the nests/ staging. I know largemouth bass absolutely destroy bluegill baits when they are prespawn, so maybe tucs will too.

Stan, Your right, I need to go fishing. 8) It's that time of year. Just maybe, I'll be able to finally break the 10 lbs mark. BSP- I got an extra basstrix for you. I'll have to remember to bring it with me, when I had back out to the islands. Bass regards, Mel "Kahuna bass" Dark side swim...

The standard rainbow trout would be nice if you have one to spare. I knew that he had stopped producing them, but I never could figure out why. I have always heard about how great those internal lead heads were for bottom bouncing, but since I got into swimbaits a year ago I never had a chance to tr...

Would you be willing to part with one of those Basstrix or an STI Pupfish if you have them? Those two swimbaits have been eluding me for the longest time. I thought I would have a chance at the Fred Hall show, but no such luck. They were selling rago tools for $80, but I had already spent my money e...

Re: Unibutter?

What is unibutter? Unibutter is some kind of local miracle juice. It is an attractant similar to Gulp! attractant or I think Ultrabite in Hawaii. It is a type of scent/attractant that is made out of uni (sea urchin) eggs. It has a really thick consistency, hence the "butter" part of the name, and s...

Thanks for all the help! The way to use them seems to be pretty intuitive after the explanations. I am going to bring some drop-shot sinkers, and see how that works. I just think that an egg/football sinker would catch in the reef too much, but a slim drop-shot weight would not. Then you could also ...
