Filthyfisherman! Can you make those in two tone colors? Im thinking something like a blue back herring. Like a silver/pearly color on the belly then green with blue flake on the top? Another question, are they thruline swimbaits? If so you could rig two trebles on the belly. Run your line through an...

Go with the softies! Especially the huddleston deluxe! They have a super natural action...they almost look like they aren't doing anything really but it's not the case. Draw back with these styles are the stock hook isn't ideal as it's a large bait with only one hook on the back. But there is a ring...

That is awesome! Largemouth > Tuc! Mattlures makes a perch swimbait that looks a lot like a general or a baby tuc i believe its 5 inches. I picked up a few when i was out there but i never really threw it for longer than 30 mins at a time. That's the kinda a bait you gotta just throw all day and exp...

Definitely got with some cheap mono backing like BASSTRACKER mentioned it will save you a lot of money over time. I do this with every reel I have(minus my set up for vertical jigging), not only will it be cheaper, it will keep braid from slipping on the spool of spinning reels, it also saves time w...

Stan, That sounds about right, but a lot of it will depend obviously on the lake and also the level of the tournament. Something to note is the Elite series guys and the FLW pros get A LOT of practice time in. Even for the opens most of the pros were there for at least 1 week prior to the event pre ...

Filthyfisherman, Nice fish! You are definitely right about having a world class fishery. No, wilson probably will not produce the big behemoths like in Ca, Tx and Fl and there arent a ton of 5lbers swimming round either but.......the average size of the fish caught is definitely higher than a lot of...

BASSTRACKER, You gotta give this rig a try at Wilson, I would bet some serious money it would absolutely tear them up! Especially when they are chasing bait, but that isn't even needed. These guys are a custom bait from Jaks Custom Baits http://jakscustombaits.com/swimbaits.htm http://s10.postimage....

Skunked when you are ready for the NRX 803C I can get it for $250 plus however much it would cost to ship it to hawaii, not sure how much that is but either way it would save you probably somewhere between $175 and $190 off of retail. The 803C is more readily available than the 802C so I can get tha...

Nice fish BASSTRACKER! I own a fuego and i do love it. I also own a shimano sustain which is even better! Silky smooth but way more costly. Not really worth the price difference IMO. Plus it's undersized for the spinning rod i primarily use nowadays so i actually use the fuego way more often. Skunke...

Ardent reel butter works quite nice on braid. Bad thing about it is it will get your finger slick and it can be difficult to keep them on your reel knobs unless you have those after market reel grips or are using a reel like the abus that have the eva foam grips. Reel butter also seems to make flour...

Last time the water levels got really low at wilson the largemouth bass fishing exploded and from what it seems hasnt slowed down a ton. Not sure if that was due to low water levels but they seemed to coincide with each other. It has been about a year and half since i fished wilson last so i cant sp...

Take pictures of the humps, points and structure! If you can, try to get at least two reference points so you can find the good spots once the water goes back up! Also helps to take notes to accompany the photos. Or better yet (not sure how many of you have any sort of gps unit)...this is what ive b...

Filthyfisherman, What i meant for the tucs side pot was this a pot that wouldn't have anything to do with tournament results or standings or anything. Kinda more like a side wager. People wouldn't be targeting tucs or fishing for them, buts it's inevitable that people will catch them even when only ...

I think your BASS Federation club is a GREAT idea! Was somehting i had looked into starting up before i found out i was transfering back to the mainland. If i ever get back to Hawaii count me in lol. One of the things you could possibly do to keep tucs in the mix is have a side pot called "ugly" fis...
