smallmouth in main basin

I caught a 1.5lb smallie at boyscout island today. Just thought I would share since it is a very rare occurance. I didnt have a camera but have a witness (user: Trashfromthepast) The bite was good for the tucs and largemouth as well. I even managed to catch a duck :?

Re: PVC Structures

DLNR hasn't had a problem with fishermen placing natural structures i.e. biodegradable material like christmas trees and such for added fish cover. The trees tend to rot out within a year or two. However, a PVC FAD (fish aggregation device) would be definitely be a no-no. It is a public fishing lak...

Awesome smallies! Great catch. I've lived all my life in the Kalihi/ Liliha area and have never tried those little streams other than for medaka/tilapia/crayfish. The miracle of freshwater fishing!!! I'm a little confused tho... the smallmouth thrives in the little ponds/streams but is scarce in La...

I will bond with your bait at the end of my line hooking up if you want!

CA Bass you would need multiple ponds to supply enough bait. It would be large scale, take awhile, and cost.

You have to weigh the trailer without boat if it has not been registered in Hawaii before. You need safety, and you need a non residence form. I said screw it and didnt register mine.
