Blue Boat Point
We pulled up to the "secret spot" around 9:00 am. Brian brought about 35 large mosquito fish and two tilapia. I grabbed the dip net and thrashed the water into a foam as Brian rigged the live bait. (Splashing and commotion seems to attract the peacock bass). First cast... HOOK UP. And so i...

Tom and I were "checking out the lake" to see if the fishing is good enough to bring the scouts out for some fishing action... It was Good. We were using 4WT and 5WT fly rods and the little gold "50 cent fly" with pink eyes. Here are just a few of the fun fish we caught. Water te...

Park and Boat Ramp Open
Saturday, 12 Sept... Went by the lake today and the ramp is open and the lake level is high enough to launch the boats. There were two trailers in the parking lot, so someone is out fishing today. LOL According to the Lake Level Chart, the lake is at 61 or 62 feet. That's 20 feet below the spillway....

My son Chris was razzing me about the size of the fish we caught yesterday. So today it was one of those "hold my beet and watch this" kind of things. LOL. Not bad for a little 3 weight fly rod and ultra lite spinning rod with 4# test line... Yes these 4 to 5 pounders were a little larger ...

Tues. Aug. 4th
Water level is up another foot and I was able to float the boat off the trailer. Water temp was 85 degrees and fish were active. Saw some big peacock bass, but no love. LOL. Landed the 1 ½ to 2 pound size. The Tenkara rod was most productive... probably because of the 4# test tippet as compared to 8...

Boat Ramp Problems...
I was at the lake yesterday… Wed. 29 July. The lake level is way down and there is mud at the bottom of the ramp. We were lucky to push the boat off the trailer and more lucky to get it back on. LOL Thought I was going to have to call a toe truck to get me out of the mud. No way I can float my boat ...

Lake Wilson OPEN
Drove by the lake and the park and boat ramp are open. Spoke with a DLNR guy and he said it's OK to fish, just keep a safe distance from each other. (like I would take anyone to my "Secret Spot".) LOL. LOL. LOL The lake was open, but the bathrooms were not. This was 10:00 AM. Lake W.jpg
