Funny you mention big swim baits...with all this talk lately about them I decided to take a 5 1/2" Super Shad Rap (redhead color) i never use and painted it up like a baby LM. Turned out pretty darn good I must say. 8) Well Tuesday late morning I tried it out...and the results surprised me. The fish...

Crappie was an old topic a long time ago. I don't they'd survive the beating the tucs and ciclids would give them.

That will never happen Cameron. The State doesn't even worry about trash in the lake and all the homeless who trash it so you know they won't go out of their way to do research about bass

I'm very sorry David. I can't even imagine what you and your family are going through. There are some very terrible things that go on in this world but God has a plan for us all. We just don't always know what that plan is. My prayers go out to you and yours.

Fished early morning until 11:00. Got on the water around 6:30 - caught 2 before 7 on top water. 2nd fish was just shy of 5# - lots of fun on my spinning reel. Buddy of mine caught one around 4# on top water 30 mins or so later. Some schooling action off Blue Boat Point, caught another decent fish t...

Huh, that's pretty cool. My father has a reel just like the bottom pic but his is a goldish color. And the funny part is...he is still using it to fish for trout in Wyoming to this day. Talk about reliable. :D

Thanks for the info Kahuna. I'll check out Baitsmith.

Hey Ca...when you say you don't see a difference are you talking about appearance or how the fish react to the moveable pec fins instead of molded fins???

Hey Ca_Bass, did you buy the talapia from the first Matt Lure bluegill series or is it from the newer Ultimate series with the moveable pectoral fins? I was thinking of buying the ultimate male bluegill but was wondering if the fins seem sturdy enough to take a pounding from a hawg? The ultimate pum...

What was your first fishing pole as a kid? Can you remember?

Let's all think back in our childhood for a minute. (Some may have to go back a bit further than others. Ahem...Stan) Can you remember your very first fishing pole? The first pole that comes to my mind is an old Zebo (I think) push button white/black combo. How about you guys? Should be an eas...

As a kid my dad would take us to a small reservoir and we tried our luck at anything that would bite. I recall using a small snelled hook, maybe size 6 or 8, and a small float about a foot or so up from that for carp. I remember using kernels of corn and also small balls of dough you buy in a roll a...
