Nice boat but ...

Wilson has an 18 foot limit if you want to be legal. Like we all comply with the 5 mph limit. LOL!

For the senko I use a #2 Gamakatsu EWG hook. I texas rig it and it needs to be straight. Any curve and it will spin and the tucs won't take it. Properly rigged you will get a "walk the dog" action when you jerk the rod tip. You can also reel it in at the surface and v-wake it. The fluke is the same ...

I too would like to see the Red Devils, Plecostomus and other invasive fish removed or culled before taking the gamefish. The fishery is too small to sustain keeping gamefish. With all the poaching already going on, a slot limit will only encourage more illegal taking. People will think a "slot limi...

I fished next to you today and had a little better luck with 13 to the boat. Today the tucs wanted the lure ripped through the bust as fast as you can crank. I alternated between a 1/8 oz. gold Kastmaster and a silver and blue one. The tucs were very fussy about the retrieve speed. Even then my lure...

I have to deal with poor vision and shaky hands so I use a snap to reduce tying different lures. I prefer using a plain duolock snap without the swivel and also remove the split ring from the Kastmaster. I think the swivel kills some of the action with the additional drag through the water. http://s...

DLNR/Dole have kept the water level at 71.8 feet for two days now. Anyone think this may be the new level instead of the 65 feet? It sure was nice to fish the grass lines and use the dock portion of the ramp today. I sure hope they try to keep it at least this high.

I also wish they would keep the water level at the 72 to 73 foot level. That way you can still use the dock portion of the ramp to tie to. Beaching a fiberglass hull on that worn cheese grater surface of the ramp is hard on my keel guard.

I prefer to order from Cabela's unless it's only carried by Bass Pro. I usually get my orders in 7 to 10 days depending on where the weekend falls relative to the order date. I have received some small orders placed on Sunday night and have it in my mail box by Friday. That's with their standard shi...

You guys left too early. It got cloudy in the afternoon and the shoreline bite really picked up. Typical pre-frontal conditions where the fish gorge before a storm. Did not catch anything bigger than 2-1/2 pounds (according to my Boga Grip) but lots of action. I talked to the guy on the float tube i...

As Roadwarrior said...lump of coal on Saturday morning. Very little busting in the same area, at least while I was there. There was more schooling around Boy Scout Island. The fish were doing that one second bust and disappear thing. Even if there was a sustained bust and I managed to be in the righ...

It was one of those magic days. No skill required. The tucs were eating anything that moved within range. Could have caught more if I didn't have to keep re-tying. Got broke off three times in spite of re-tying. I guess that's the curse of fishing with 4# test line. I enjoy fishing ultra light and d...

OK...I'll let the cat out of the bag. Most of the schooling was between the county yard and the Masonic temple. It slowed way down by 10 AM. Had to beat the banks after that or do a lot of waiting for the next bust. Now that you know where it is, save some for me tomorrow if you beat me there. :D

The fish must have felt some pity for this poor old amateur because by the end of the day I had 64 tucs, 2 largemouth and 1 bluegill. I fished next to Chris for half the morning.
