Awa awa (ladyfish/ poorman's tarpon* where I'm from). Got it in the lake? or just showing of the catch, because they can go in pretty fresh water. Doubt it was from the lake unless someone has been releasing ladyfish? hahaha

The black chin might be an interesting saltwater bait. I have caught a lot of barracuda on small ones bc's behind a whipping bubble with a medium retrieve, and a couple random things like eels and moi dunking them. I have also heard stories from several fishing uncles saying theyve seen ulua busting...

Judge the following account at your own digression. SWIM (someone who isn't myself) [or is it?] may or may not have dropped a couple lines a few weeks ago, maybe last year actually, could have been yesterday too, but we'll settle on it happening in 2014... Not saying yes not saying no to any trolls ...

I'm trying to plan a little backpacking fishing trip for Kauai. Anyone here care to share information on where I could find some rainbows and other interesting freshwater fish there?

It's probably too warm for spotted bass, plus there max size is rather small compared to LMB's and even Smallies. I would rather see the lake stocked with hard fighting fish like Smallies, Snakeheads, and Maybe some Tambaqui (Pacu). Wild Pacu are the best tasting fish on this planet hands down, and ...
