Even with all of the new fangled high tech, high $$$ lines made today, Maxima is still a great line.
Casts well and abrasion resistant.
We used 80lb test on all of our ulua reels in Hilo.

4lb test is like fishing with braided stainless cable
More sporting on 2lb
Kaleo is thinking of trying a Tenkara in the surf for surf perch and croaker. Should be fun as the fish are up close like the Tucs at Lake Wilson.

That's why they call it fishing and not catching. lol. Looks like it was a nice day on the lake from what I could see in the pics. We hit Redondo Pier this evening and the action was brisk.
