Karsten Thot Bridge Closing

A note of caution: I have a feeling that for liability reasons, especially when they are actively working on the bridge, they would not want anyone near the bridge or going under it for that matter. Don't know if they will enforce the waters though but you might be taking your chances when crossing ...

Clown Knife fish

Curious: did Chris catch his clown knife fish in Lake Wilson? Information on this fish reveals that it can get fairly large in the wild - over 3 feet in length.

I wonder what other exotic creatures are lurking around in the lake

Clown Knife fish

A clown knife fish was caught by an HFFA member and taken to the hatchery. May have been half of a spawning pair as there were two of them when this one was caught. This fish is supposed to be nocturnal, unusual but kinda cool looking fish although probably something that we wouldn't want to get est...

Sunday HFFA Tournament ? ? ?

They say that magicians never reveal their secrets - although he did mention that he found a pattern for the Tucs and was able to use that pattern to catch a number of them. Before the tournament began, Kelton stated that on one of his fishing ventures, he caught a clown knife fish and took it up to...

Sunday HFFA Tournament ? ? ?

It was one of those " you should have been fishing here ...(on another day) it was raining fish " kind of day. What a difference a few days makes. 18 anglers in 13 boats took to the waters. The weather was beautiful, mostly sunny, with occasional overcast clouds, some light rain and nice trade winds...

Jeff,

HFFA August Fishing Tournament report 8/19/12

14 anglers in 10 boats took part in the August monthly tournament. What a difference a day makes when compared to Stan's post of his day on Saturday. The weather was overcast for most of the morning with slight trade winds and water temperatures starting about 79 degrees rising to over 82 degrees by...

Hey Chris,

I recall seeing you doing an interviewing with someone with a video camera at the weigh-in. Was that person from one of the television stations?
Just curious if anything will be coming out on television.

Steve :D

Jeff,

Like the new boat - no wonder you're selling all the others, you need room for that one.

HFFA July Fishing Tournament report 7/22/12

Sixteen anglers in nine boats took part in the July HFFA monthly tournament. The weather was mostly bluebird skies with the water temperature starting out around 77 degrees and warmed up to over 80 in the day. Very little wind and few clouds made for a very hot day! The water level was at 67 feet wi...

Lavage findings

HFFA members have been weighing and measuring fish caught after monthly tournaments for the last several months. We did a lavage check during one of the weighing but results revealed little information. Few remnants of fish parts but mostly unidentifiable. Yesterday, as my partner was bringing in hi...

HFFA Tournament report - 6/24

The monthly HFFA tournament was held yesterday - 17 anglers in ten boats participated. The weather was mostly overcast, some light showers with some periodic gusty winds. The water level was about 70 feet according to the gauge under the bridge. Sorry, did not get a water temperature reading. The fi...
