Aww!!! ('') After we weighed that bugger, the fish went back into Wilson. My mistake, not a grass carp, just a common carp like the one here: http://s14.postimage.org/xceaq5sot/common_carp.jpg the one I got was mostly dark but had a nice golden tinge to the sides, kinda looked like a TUC at f...

Takes a special skill set (luck) to hook a grass carp with a bass lure. Many have tried, most will fail.

Ancient Chinese proverb revised:

" Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he joins the HFFA and goes fishing.

Secret carp lure

Went fishing at Lake Wilson yesterday, didn't catch anything except for this grass carp using a secret lure. ( 2 1/2" swimbait on a leadhead jig ) http://s7.postimage.org/ep8hlb3fr/lure.jpg The carp inhaled this lure and after a short battle, landed this 2 1/2 lb black and golden carp. http://s10.po...

Going to Branson

My wife has been trying to get me to agree to go to Branson Missouri to check out the shows and stuff that people do when they go there. I have to admit that I was not too keen on going to a place like that as I heard that it's where all the old people go to see all these old time singers perform. S...

Is it just me... ?

Stan, I have those same kinds of experiences as well. I think the part of fishing that makes it standout in our memories are the times that you spend doing it with family and friends. If you notice, it's not really about the actual fishing ( although that's fun as well ) but rather at the end of the...

Faded Braided Line

What about line conditioners like Ardent line butter, I've used this to help with casting when using braid line, it's supposed to help protect and condition the line. Haven't used it enough to know if it affects the way fish react or not.

Stan, It's possible that we could have misread the tag number.

( I'll blame it on roadwarriorsvt as he read the tag to me )

The other possibility although I would be reluctant to admit it, could be my hearing as that's what I heard when I recorded the tag number

LOST & (then) FOUND

Hmm! maybe now's the time to go rod/reel fishing and see if I can find
my rig that I "accidentally" kicked off the side of the boat earlier this year.
