ya it was sort of near the california ave. spot. i hike more downstream though. its pretty cool shaking that mini jig in front of a rock and having a smallie come out of the rocks and grab it!

my smallmouth adventure

went to do some hiking through the lake wilson inlet stream. water was flowing just right and the smallmouth were very active. caught 14 all together, most of them around 8 inches but got a couple around a foot. top lures today included a silver mepps and a trout mini jig in green. here are some pic...

just looked at the kvd's, little more expensive but they look nice. were the ones that you got the silent ones? do bass sometimes prefer no rattles?

i like the bandit 100 square bill cranks. one of my best largemouth lure. fish it near grass and theres usually something ready to rush out and take the lure. never tried the kvd's yet

im starting to tie up all our trout flies for bishop, bunch of adams and elk hair caddis. those are my 2 favorite ones, should start on a bunch of nymph patterns too.

seabass- 2 pound test huh? maybe ill spool my reel up with some of that, i think ill get maxima then cuz i want high quality line if im fishing thin line. im sticking to my 6X tippets though.

im not sure about making it to kauai's trout session, but i am going to cali to meet up with seabass and do some trout fishing in the sierra's. expect a full trout report soon!
