Just to clarify, the awaawa isn't from the lake. Although with the number of species in there I wouldn't be shocked if one did come up.

Thank you very much for the info. My fishing partner got this "Anykine" species not too long ago (bubble float rig with curly tail). It did some acrobatics - poor man's mahi mahi.

For barracuda specifically, I like the gold Kastmaster spoon. You can trail it with feathers, a rubber squid, etc. I work it fast breaking the surface. I walk the length of the canal to cover more area. Sometimes you can see the barracuda suspending. Other times they will strike out of nowhere. Like...

Question: Can I get tucs in February?

Would it be worth my time to go after tucs now? If not, I'll stick to the catfish until summer. Appreciate anyone's thoughts on this... It's been quiet on the Fishing Reports side for awhile. Me and my fishing partner have pulled some catfish over the winter months but I got self-conscious and didn'...

Prior to Nuuanu #4 closing its fishing program I went to every opening for about 10 years. I would bet the farm that there are all the channel catfish in the world in there today. Probably very good sized now that the reservoir is closed to fishing and they went back to natural forage vs. stocking a...

I second what Stan said. "H" has tucs and catfish. There are catfish to be had along "K". Am I not the tuc master on here but there is a lot of advice posted in the forum that you can search for. Do a search for "catfish" and look for my posts. I use a standard slip sinker rig, 12" leader and circle...

Please be sure to stock some blue catfish and channel catfish for me - the big varieties of both. I am flexible as to what else you guys want to include.

As was mentioned in another thread, there are opportunities from shore. However, to answer your question BBP and many other productive spots are not accessible by car/foot. I'm not sure what type of vehicle you have but my recommendation is to acquire a kayak - sit-on-top or sit-inside, I have seen ...

Our 1st tuc ever!

In between the catfish I have been on a mission all summer long to bring in a tuc by lure. After 100s or maybe even 1000s of casts, that mission ended last week...when I lost an expensive Rapala in an underwater tree. Today we picked up 3 tucs - our very first. I took a photo of the good one and inc...

Hoomaluhia's main offerings are red devil cichlids, banded jewel cichlids and tilapia. This is mostly a kiddie activity unless you want to check out the botanical attractions. If you do go, bring white bread for bait.

Catfish report

Hello again, folks. We started down south first thing this morning and picked up a small one – under a pound. Then we humped it over to the BSA/Miki Miki Flats area in the NuCanoe. We found a good hole over there and landed 2 nice catfish, both a couple of pounds each. It was real active and we had ...

Another nice catfish and a nice day

Hi folks. Got a good one today. The kid's leg is an easy 20"+. Sorry for the poor photo quality - I couldn't get the fish to cooperate. We found a great spot and picked up 5 catfish in total with 2 strikes that didn't stick. CPR was practiced as always. I sure am glad that we went out in the NuCanoe...

Everyone make a note: The next time the water level drops and/or we need it to rain, put Stan on the news.
