Re: Latest word on Boat Ramp
Thanks Stan, The pics are great. The parking area looks nice. Can't wait to use it. Our tournament is this Sunday so we'll see how it is. According to Annette, this is a draft of a press release from the DLNR: The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of State Parks will completel...

Re: Parking Lot Closure
Okay, I got an e-mail from Annette with the latest-latest word. The contractor is planning to close the boat ramp and parking lot from June 13 through July 1 with the intent to reopen on July 2.

Re: Parking Lot Closure
I have been talking with Annette Tagawa from DLNR and the latest word is that they will completely shut down the parking lot from June 15. It was originally scheduled earlier and we would have had to cancel our tournament but she called me this morning to say we were good to go. Luckily for us the t...

Sunday results-Okay, another tough day fishing but some nice ones were caught. Can't name names as the results are announced at the awards banquet. The top two finishers were the only ones to go into double digits with both scoring over thirteen pounds over the two days. As an indicator to the tough...

Stan, don't tell that to the other Mike. If you remember he got a seven pounder on the first day last year and then followed that up with a five pounder on the second day. Needless to say, he won the TOC. January hasn't really made that much of a difference. Actually I think July is a slower month b...

You didn't miss much, Stan. Fishing was very tough. Out of the nine people who showed up(only ten qualified), four got limits. First and second place are separated by THREE ounces. Only twelve ounces separates first and fourth place. Even Kelton couldn't find the big ones as he is now in fourth plac...

Hey Guys, Just a reminder that we still need help this weekend to help DAR sampling. Just talked to Annette and their staff went out and caught all the tilapia they needed. They still need 20 koi and three catfish from the south fork and seven from the north fork. They caught all they need from the ...

We do not have an outlaw pass for the day. I tried to get one for the catfish but was denied for now. A long time ago, we could catch koi with some corn which is an illegal bait as the fish cannot digest it and will die when the corn gets stuck in the intestines. But as we will be taking the fish ou...

DLNR-DAR needs help
The DLNR-DAR has asked the club for help in collecting specimens. This time they need some catfish from three different areas. Basically, the Basin around Kemoo Island is one area and the other two are the North Fork and the South Fork. They are asking for nine fish from each area for a total of 27 ...

What Ca_Bass didn't mention was that the 2-14 bass he caught was a big enough kicker for him to win the tournament. Beat Kelton by ten ounces. In all there were 36 fish caught and 23 of them were under one pound. Eleven out of thirteen anglers had limits so the dinks ruled! Hey, at least everyone go...

HFFA-TOC Tournament
We had our Tournament of Champions this weekend and were suprised that the water had cleared up. Nine out of ten qualifiers came out to fish and basically had a nice two day tournament. Forty seven fish were caught with only three tucs-all in the two pound range. There were fourteen limits(three fis...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! On behalf of the club I would like to thank you for the kind words. But you have to know that part of our efforts are for purely selfish purposes. I still remember how it was in the '70's and '80's (yes, I've been a member since 1975) when lunkers were relatively common. The early mo...
