Koi sightings plus!

I saw those Koi last weekend all the way down right before you go around the corner by I think it's called "Joe's Point". There's usually a rusty old chair sitting down there. They were huge, all of them were calico with orange, black, and white. I thought it was a massive Red Devil at first. On the...

Fisherman unite to Clean Lake Wilson.

I'm in for cleaning up the lake. I don't know how we'd get that motorcycle out though. Have you guys noticed all the car batteries along the bank where the homeless used to live under the bridge, sad.

I'm going to say no because I am on the lake all the time and have not once seen any of the MWR guys out there. Should still be fun though. I'm thinking that if they don't have a good turn out from active duty guys they might let anyone in. If I ask Pete up at MWR would any of you guys be interested?

Army MWR Fishing Tournament

The Army MWR is hosting a fishing tournament in the lake on Jan 23. I signed up as soon as I saw it in the paper but there were only two other guys on the list. Anyone else planning on fishing this?

My best lure.

The lure I have had the most success with which ain't saying much is my little Matzo Top Water Popper. He has a green back and a white belly and gets hit so much I've had to change his red tail out twice already.

Fishing the bubble and fly

I've been fishing the bubble and fly with no luck! Is the whole rig supposed to be submerged when you retrieve it. I've been retrieving it fast but the bubble is all you see come barreling over the water even when it is full of water. I know you have to fish it fast for the tucs but am I fishing it ...

Boat pics

My boat project, took it out on the maiden voayge after installing the decks, carpet, and new seats today. It floats great and is very comfortable to fish out of. http://s3.postimage.org/sWCmJ.jpg http://s4.postimage.org/gxga9.jpg http://s4.postimage.org/gxsDS.jpg http://s2.postimage.org/1cdY4i.jpg

I need a new outboard

Thanks for replies guys. I'd definitely like to check out the trolling motors and the 8hp honda. Send me your contact info tristanpelti@yahoo.com. I've been putting some work into the boat and it's come a long way so far. Been on a dryspell with the tucs though! http://s1.postimage.org/PkOY0.jpg

I need a new outboard!

I have an old 70's 20hp Johnson on my boat and I want to get something a little newer and smaller. I think a 90's 7.5 - 15 hp would be about right for what I do at the lake. Let me know if any of you guys know someone who's got one in a garage somewhere or what have ya. I've been on Craigslist but t...

baby catfish for bass

Back home in PA a lot of people use baby catfish for smallmouth bass in rivers like the Juniata and Sesquehanna. They're the best bait you can use when it comes to live bait but hard to come by. I got a lot of bumps and bruises as a kid stumbling around rocks in the river trying to net baby cats.

Good tackle shops on Oahu?

I'm having a hard time finding a tackle shop on this island that has a good selection of lures that can be used on the Lake. I've been looking for some smaller buzz baits and some crankbaits. I'm thinking about buying KVD's Sexy Shad kit from Bass Pro. You guys out there have any suggestions?

Slow Sunday

I went out Sunday evening too and only caught one. It was about a 2# Tuc and caught him trolling a small chrome rattle trap on my way back in. Right before the point on Boy Scout's island. The water level seems like it's gone down about 3 more feet.
