Terrible news. Rest in Peach Hari.

I love trout fishing and spent many summers at Kokee catching. I've been looking on line, but cant find when the Kauai season starts.

Anyone have any info on this?

If I was fishing from shore (and desperately want to catch a Tuc), I'd use 2-3" Tilaps or store bought minnows free-lined or under a very light bobber. Way back in the day when I fished "da Creek", we used 1" - 2" long crawdads/crayfish hooked through the V between the eyes. If they had the soft shell, that was a guaranteed hit. That was almost 20 years ago, but I know for a fact that taking 50 crawdads down to "da Creek" resulted in at least 20-30...

I stopped by the launch area today, dirty water but didnt look terrible. Then again, I havent seen the lake since August 2010 when Stan took me out.

Water is definitely way up, so sounds like good fishing hopefully will follow.

Oh yeah, no trailers in the parking lot as of about 10:30am

I think it's great that the trout are back. Some of my best memories are of fishing the Kokee streams and reservoir as a kid. Trout are a perfect freshwater fish to get the keikis started on.
