There are several PRIMO spots right around BSI and The Saddle. It may take a few minutes to get them up and about, but it is well worth the time.

As an underclassman at Honolulu Community College I raised several varieties of fish & crustaeans, of both fresh and salt water varieties, as part of an Aquaculture class. The orange, or beige, color Talapia are hybrids, a.k.a. Hawaiian Sunfish, that are many (hundred) generations removed from K...

It's a delicacy in China, so I would check out a few Chinese food restaurants to see if they have anything. Or maybe search the web focusing on Chinese food.

They are supposed to be delicious! Let us know how it goes. Aloha!

Next time around

Next time you go try a little further south, down around North Wildwood (Grassy Sounds) or Cape May. Late October is "Surf Fishing Heaven" with the Blue & Stripers going for anything that even resembles an eel. The beaches are better also. And if you get tired of surf fishing, get a small boat a...

I've found that color, or size, really doesn't matter. The lure just needs to be pulled through the water in a rapid, steady motion. I've pulled in a few nice size Tucs on top poppers of various colors, spoons of various sizes & shapes, Yonimura Minnows of varying sizes, and Rapala minnows, both...

Lake Mead / Nevada Fishing Spots?

Aloha Y'all, I find myself planning a trip to the Las Vegas, Nevada area the first two weeks of April 2009. My son-in-law, a Nevada Army National Guard member, is off to Iraq...again... and the family is going out to the ninth island to send him off right. While I'm there I'd like to get in some fis...

I've hooked a few Large Mouth and they looked thin too. I guess that they just aren't getting fed enough. Not like the aggressive Peacocks! As a rule...I always dump my left over bait fish in the lake. The ones that don't get eaten just might procreate! Let's hope so!

The easiest way to get the license, and the way I got mine, was go to a sporting goods store and fill out the form, pay your money then get busy fishing. I got mine from the sporting good store on California Ave. quite some time ago. I've been back, but the store is never open. The satellite city ha...

You are aware that sewage, both treated & untreated, is released into the lake...right? And that they rent boats at Schofield? Welcome to the 'Board". Aloha!

I've found that the Peacock Bass at Lake Wilson will go after just about anything that is pulled through the water at a fast speed. The speed or the splashing/thrashing really gets them up and brings out their aggressive nature. But when it comes to color...the lighter the better. My favorite, and m...

So do I get a finders fee? A free days rental? Ummm....

I was up at the lake on Friday. The water was way down and the parking lot was full up with U.S. Government boat trailers. Somebody's making out!
